Here are two passages that I read today and felt like sharing.
This first one is a passage that I memorized my Sophomore year of college, and it has been a great help with battling the desires of the world.
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of the eyes and the boasting of what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
1 John 2:15-17
This second passage is one of the most encouraging passages in scripture to me.
"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God."
1 John 3:1
How amazing is it that we are called children of God? How amazing is it that God is showering his love on us?
God, sancitify me to be more like Christ and help me reflect the new identity that you have given me as your child.
